Wilma passed away Sunday morning, June 2, 2013 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo after a brief illness. She was born July 17, 1929 in Oak Park, IL the daughter of the late William and Edna (Nickel) Blaesing. Most important to Wilma was her family and in her spare time worked in retail sales during the holiday season at Gilmore's and Montgomery Wards in Kalamazoo. She was a member of the Paw Paw United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, served as church secretary, church financial secretary, and sang in the church choir. She volunteered her time at LakeView Community Hospital, enjoyed traveling, especially to Palm Harbor, FL with her husband for the winter, gardening, reading, garage sales, puzzles, playing cards and bingo. On August 20, 1949 in San Antonio, TX, Wilma was united in marriage to Dalton Charles Rumsey, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 8, 2009. Surviving are five children, Dalton "Chuck" (Tricia) Rumsey, Jr of Paw Paw, Diane (Douglas) Grimm of Almena, William Joseph "Joe" (Susan) Rumsey of Kalamazoo, Brian (Julie) Rumsey of Almena, and Mary (Randy) Luckett of Grand Haven; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Kenneth) Grove, Staff Sergeant Justin (Tracey) Grimm, Christopher Rumsey, Collin Rumsey, Travis Rumsey, Emily Rumsey, Carter Luckett, and Lily Luckett; great granddaughter, Keira Grove; two sisters, Grace Potter of Paw Paw and Virginia Davis of Banning, CA; sister-in-law, Sharon (William) Lantz of Almena; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening (6/4) 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Spackman officiating. Interment of Cremains will be in Almena Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Paw Paw United Methodist Child Care Center.
