Paw Paw

William H. Woodman, age 95, of Paw Paw passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at his home.  Bill was born September 20, 1923 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of the late John Gray and Lillian Fern (Andrews) Woodman.  He was a graduate of Paw Paw High School, graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, member of the Alpha Zeta Fraternity and MSU Alumni Association.  Bill was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Force as a fighter pilot.  He was a Life Member and Past Commander, of the American Legion, McGowan-Johnson Post 68, Paw Paw, member of Past Commanders Club, Firing Squad for military services and Color Guard Competition team.

Bill served his community on the Van Buren County ASC Committee, FHA Board, member of the Intermediate School Board, and the Cherry Committee of MSU. He was also a member of the Paw Paw-Lawton Lodge # 25 F&AM, and Farm Bureau.

Bill was united in marriage to Kathryn Marie Carney in East Lansing, MI on March 16, 1946 and preceded him in death on July 20, 2013.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Racette and Mary Duch.  Surviving are two children, daughter: Linda (Vete) Toliusis of Paw Paw; son: James C. Woodman of Paw Paw; Three grandsons, Paul Toliusis of Paw Paw, Mark (Chelsie) Toliusis of Skokie, IL and their son, Lane Toliusis and Matthew (Patricia) Toliusis of Austin, TX and their daughter, Ona Toliusis; sister: Jean (William) Schmidt of Euless, Texas; many nieces and nephews.  Celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Legion Post 68 Veterans Memorial Park, Paw Paw or charity of choice.  Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.  Share a memory or sign the guest book at: www.adamspawpaw.com
