In loving memory of William Herbert Ogden, affectionately known as "Bert", whose journey on this earth came to a peaceful close at the Rose Arbor Residence on March 17, 2024. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on September 17, 1943, only son to the late George E. Ogden and Helen Jo (Walters) Ogden.
Bert led a life dedicated to service and community. His career as a Michigan State Trooper, concluding with his retirement in 1991, reflected his commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of those around him. His unwavering dedication was not only confined to his professional life; he actively participated in various community organizations, leaving an indelible mark wherever he went.
A proud Marine who served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, Bert embodied principles of integrity and duty both in and out of uniform. His longtime involvement in the Lions Club, American Legion, VFW, and First Presbyterian Church Paw Paw attested to his deep-rooted values and sense of responsibility towards others.
Beyond his illustrious career and military service, Bert's true essence shone through in his interactions with people. Known for his kind heart and willingness to lend a helping hand without hesitation, he touched countless lives. Whether it was spending time bowling, golfing or traveling with his friends, family and grandchildren, Bert found joy in simple pleasures and cherished moments spent with loved ones.
