William Charles Lasinski, Sr., 87, of Lawton, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at his home.
He was born February 10, 1933 in Chicago, the son of the late Percivel Lasinski and Jeanette (Halverson) Lasinski .
Bill grew up in Chicago and moved to Michigan after serving in the Air Force as a mechanic during the Korean War. He owned and operated Bill's Auto Sales and Service in Lawton for more than 60 years. He was a true entrepreneur, guiding many people over the years into prosperous careers. Bill enjoyed trains, old cars, horses and loved racing and NASCAR. He was very caring and charming, he was the type of guy that never met a stranger and loved to joke around. Bill loved his family and always made sure he had candy for the grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion in Paw Paw.
Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Dona Franks Lasinski, his three daughters, Joy (Richard) Cagle, Judy Hiser, Caroline (Ron) Potter; five sons, Bill (Toni) Lasinski Jr., Robert (Valerie Turner) Lasinski, Daniel Lasinski, Christopher (Allison) Lasinski and Mathew (Tomi) Lasinski, a boat load of grandchildren and great grandchildren and his sister in law, Colette Lasinski.
Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Pete Lasinski and his sister, Carol Clancey.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 22, 2020, beginning at 1:00 pm. at the First Baptist Church, 604 East 3rd Street Lawton, where a memorial service will commence at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lonnie Carpenter officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
