Age: 83

of Paw Paw, MI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 24, 2011. William was born on February 24, 1928 in Ipswich, Suffolk to the late William and Dorothy Double. He proudly served in the British Royal Navy from 1945-1949. William was a life member of the Blaxhall Church of England and was a world traveler. He was truly a great friend to every person he met, and was an avid supporter and enabler to all of his children and grandchildren's needs and aspirations. On March 18, 1950, William married Dorothy French in Blaxhall, England, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Dave (Jo) Double; 2 daughters, Diane (Richard) Ling and Denise (Ron) Blakely; 4 granddaughters, Jennifer (Paul) Wharton, Alysha (Kevin) Ruffatto, Heather (Dave) Maurer and Sara Double; 4 grandsons, Matthew (Ashley) Double, John Double, Daniel (Adynna) Ling and Jamie (Rhia) Ling; also surviving are 8 great grandchildren. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial and luncheon gathering will take place on Friday, July 29, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at the Vineyards in Paw Paw (28201 Red Arrow Highway, just east of the High School).
