William Busse, 42, of Paw Paw, passed away unexpectedly August 3, 2014 at his home. He was born March 3, 1972 in St. Joseph, the son of Ronald and Nadine (Nelsen) Busse. Bill was a 1990 graduate of Watervliet High School and went on to earn an Associate's Degree at Lake Michigan College. He was a self-employed contractor for DirecTV and was well known for his appearance in a nationwide commercial for the CDC's anti-smoking campaign. Bill enjoyed quads, motorcycles, RC cars, archery and snowmobiling with his boys.
On September 2, 2006 in Pensacola, Florida, Bill was united in marriage to Heather Simonek, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Mariah Warner of Adrian and Brandon Busse of Paw Paw; two step-sons, Jesse Simonek of Chicago and Kyle Veldhuizen of Paw Paw; his parents, Ron (Joyce) Busse of Ludington and Nadine (Wilbur) Jarvis of Paw Paw; sister, Rona (Rev. Harold) Goodrich of Paw Paw, and his beloved dogs, Millie and Bowser.
Family and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday (8/6) at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., Rev. Tim Gunderson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. Memorial contributions may be directed to a college fund for his son, Brandon, c/o Honor Credit Union.
