William (Bill) Edward Bigley, Jr., age 72, of Paw Paw, MI, died Monday, August 26, 2019. Bill was born May 2, 1947 in New Castle, PA to William Edward Bigley, Sr. and Catherine (McOwen) Bigley. He was previously a resident of Royal Oak, MI for 40 years.
Bill married the love of his life, Mary Ann (Scribner) Bigley, on January 20, 1968 at St. Luke’s Church in Lakewood, Ohio. He is survived by Mary Ann and their three children: Billy (Stacey) of Birmingham, MI; Joe of Aspen, CO; and Amy (John) Hazelhoff of Mattawan, MI. He is also survived by grandchildren Thomas and Grace Hazelhoff of Mattawan, MI and Francesca and Rose Bigley of Birmingham, MI. Bill is also survived by siblings Kathleen Farrell, Kevin Bigley, Jane Wagner, Brian Bigley, and Anne Kolencik, all from the Cleveland area. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill worked in the automotive tooling industry for 38 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many years in the Great Lakes region as a USCG Merchant Marine.
No one could beat Bill’s sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh and to entertain with practical jokes. Bill cared about the things that truly mattered in life: time spent with family boating, fishing, and sitting around the campfire. He taught all of us to appreciate the little things in life and to always find the humor in any situation. He will live in our hearts forever.
