Walter passed away Monday morning, December 2, 2013 at Borgess Pipp Hospital in Plainwell after a brief illness. He was born November 14, 1939 in Paw Paw the son of the late Steve and Stefaine (Tuligtowski) Hamay. Walter was employed at Fuller's in Kalamazoo and retired from Knouse Foods in Paw Paw. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Paw Paw and enjoyed, hunting, fishing, gardening, farming and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. On July 2, 1966 in Watervliet, Walter was united in marriage to Janet L. Skibbe who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Jon (Michelle Wood) Hamay of Hart, MI and James (Marie) Hamay of Jackson, MI; grandchildren, Hannah, McKinzie and Hunter Hamay; two sisters, Frances Danger of Paw Paw and Mary (Ernest) Wisniewski of Centerville, OH; niece, Desiree Danger; 3 nephews, Robert Danger, Jr., Steve Danger and Kevin Wisniewski. Walter was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Danger, Sr. and a nephew, Wayne Wisniewski. Family will receive friends, Wednesday, (Dec. 4) 5 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw. Interment will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center, Kalamazoo or Eleanor's Pantry, Paw Paw.
