Verle passed away at home peacefully on Thursday afternoon, August 30, 2012. Verle was born July 14, 1914 in Oakley, Kansas, the son of the late George W. and Ella Mae Moore. He has been a resident of Paw Paw for 66 years, where he worked as a welder for Consumers Power, retiring 38 years ago. He was also a former welding instructor for Paw Paw High School and had been welding since his employment as an aircraft welder during WWII. He enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time with grandchildren. Verle was the beloved father of 3, Loretta Long, Charles (Betty) Moore and Cynthia Paschal; grandfather of 7, Dyana Paschal, Andre Moore, Devin Moore, Doug Paschal, Jasmine Watkins, Charles Moore II and Latricia Elliott; great grandfather of 9, Andre Moore Jr., Charles Moore III, Verron Paschal, Joah Moore, Annalise Moore, Anita Elliott, Tiffany Elliott, Destiny Elliott and Michael Watkins II. Verle was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie. Family will receive friends on Wednesday (9/5) 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Covey Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paw Paw Alumni Association for a scholarship in memory of Marjorie and Verle Moore.
