Timothy James Stevens, 78, of Lawton, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024. 

He was born November 22, 1945, in Kalamazoo, the son of Frank Leroy Stevens and Vernice Jean Wilson. 

Tim served in the Air Force during Vietnam. He then went on to a 32.5 year career with General Motors in Kalamazoo and previously served as chairman for UAW Local 488 Retirees Union. In his down time, Tim enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and his beagle dogs. Tim donated his time to many organizations including Van Buren County Senior Services, where he helped to install wheelchair ramps and Kalamazoo Deacons Conference. He and his wife, Teva volunteered for many years in helping to serve the Paw Paw Community Thanksgiving dinners. He was a proud veteran and member of the Augusta VFW. Most of all, Tim treasured his family and looked forward to spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

On October 23, 1965, he married Teva Stevens who survives.

He is also survived by his three sons, Timothy (Maria) Stevens Jr., Anthony (Rosie) Stevens, Troy Stevens; two daughters, Tammie (Brian) Branstetter and Rita (Robert) Reese; four grandchildren, Patrick (Cameron) Hill, Kathleen (Blaine) Bailey, Richard (Jacob) Hill and Connie Branstetter; two great-grandchildren, Waylon Bailey, Hudson Bailey, and he also knew he was expecting his third baby great-grandchild; two brothers, William (Helen) Stevens and Thomas Pacic, along with one sister, Francis Heath. 

Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Frank Stevens; stepmother, Mary Stevens; mother, Vernice Stevens Pacic; stepfather, Frank Pacic; sister, Kathleen Virginia Moskalik and daughter, Connie Frances Stevens.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, September 10, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. A memorial service will commence at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Chuck Rawsthorne officiating. A luncheon will follow at Faith Baptist Church, 56070 Murray Street, Mattawan. Tim will be placed to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to arrive at the assembly area 10 minutes prior to the start of the service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Talons Out Honor Flight, P.O. Box #280, Kalamazoo, MI 49081 or Peaceful Paws Animal Rescue, a no kill shelter in Lawrence, MI in c/o Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw, MI 49079.
