Thomas Gale Staggs

Thomas Gale Staggs "Papa", 88, of Paw Paw, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.

He was born December 2, 1936, in Bridgeport, Michigan, the son of Waldo Staggs and Florence L. (Hunter) Staggs.

Tom was united in marriage to Donna Lynne Cook on April 6, 1953, in Indiana. He was a lifelong member of the Paw Paw - Lawton Masonic Lodge #25 F&AM, as well as a member of the Scottish Rite 32 Degree Masons - Saladin Shrine Temple of Grand Rapids, and Order of the Eastern Star #257, Paw Paw. In his free time, Tom enjoyed old cars and motorcycles. In the summer months he took great pride maintaining his lawn. One of his favorite hobbies was working in his workshop. He loved his Purple Martin Birds and looked forward to them returning to his birdhouses he made for them each spring.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Donna (Cook) Staggs, two sons, Thomas R Staggs, Jr., and Barry W. (Bobbie) Staggs, eight grandchildren, Tim Staggs, T.C. Staggs, Travis Staggs, Tabitha (Aaron) Leedy, Stephen (Tara) Tyler, Joshua (Megan) Staggs, and Matthew Staggs, along with several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Shari L. Tyler, his grandson, Daniel (Kimberly) Tyler, brother, Donald Staggs and his sister, Betty Middleton.

Per Tom and Donna's wishes, there will be no services held.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shiner's Children's Hospital.
