Thomas Edward Baran, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born in Chicago, IL, on June 6, 1942, the son of Edward & Bernice Baran.
Tom graduated and joined the United States Navy, where he served his country faithfully. He was very proud of his military background, and he considered it a great honor to protect his home standing next to his brothers in arms. Upon his return home, he owned a small variety of companies but he eventually retired in sales; A fitting career end to someone who loved to talk to people. Tom loved people. He could carry on a conversation with anyone he met about anything they could think to talk about. Tom also loved anything fishing, spending quality time with his friends and family, and volunteering at the American Legion in Paw Paw. He was a great cook and he really enjoyed cooking for the different events held at the American Legion.
Tom is survived by his Wife, Jaqueline Carol Baran; Children, Diane (Mark) Mierzejewski, Bob Baran, Kimberly (Scott) Pugsley, and Edward Baran; Grandchildren, Chrissy Michener, Ashley (Mike) Hanley, Shantell Baran, Alex Baran, Zachary Baran, Edward Baran Jr., Angel Baran, Sophia Pugsley, Sean Smith, and Krystal Smith; Sister, Barbara Bolt; Brother, Jody Baran, and a host of other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a Grandson, Curtis Michener.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Wildey Cemetery with Rev. Tim Gunderson Officiating. A light luncheon will follow after services at the American Legion Post 68 in Paw Paw.
