Theron M. Huffman

Theron M. Huffman, 82, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2017. Theron was born in Bel, Louisiana on August 30th, 1934 to Catherine (Masten) Massel and George Huffman. He spent the majority of his life with family and friends in Paw Paw, Michigan.

Theron was a sports enthusiast who traveled the world. He enjoyed family gatherings, photography and playing and watching sports, including baseball, tennis, golf and bowling. Theron was an avid reader and enjoyed studying Biblical history, teaching Bible studies and Sunday School. He was active in the Paw Paw Little League, and, in 1968, he was elected to the Paw Paw Board of Education. Theron was also an active member in the church community throughout his life and a previous board member of the Almena United Methodist Church.

Theron enjoyed a long and successful career in mechanical engineering with a focus on hydraulics. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from I.C.S. He worked as a designer, analyst and sales manager for several esteemed organizations, including Texaco, Ingersoll, Hydreco and Greer. His extensive career enabled him to travel across multiple continents, including North and South America, Australia, Europe and Asia.

Theron is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Masten) Huffman as well as four children: Jeffrey (Darsi) Huffman, Stacy (Bradley) Berkshire, Gregory (Juliette) Huffman and Leslie (Mike) Casso. Theron is also survived by brothers George (Claudette) Huffman and James (Vonda) Huffman. His seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 on Tuesday, May 30th, followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at Almena United Methodist Church, with Pastor Donna Keyte officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Fellowship Choir.
