Thelma passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Alamo Nursing Home. She was born May 31, 1916 in Paw Paw the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Wert) McLain. She was employed by Paw Paw Bait Company, until they closed and she moved to Warner Vineyards until her retirement in 1980. On September 5, 1936 in Kalamazoo, Thelma was united in marriage to Charles Franklin Hall who preceded her in death on June 29, 2006. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Laura Lee Hall and Barbara Johnson; granddaughter, Rachael E. Hall; one great grandchild; three brothers, Hugh and Robert McLain and Elsworth Machan; 4 sisters, Kathryn (Machan) Zimmerman, Marie (Machan) McCreery, Grace (Machan) Hummel and Lavinia (McLain) Hunter. Surviving are three sons, David (Ruth) Hall of Kalamazoo, Hugh (Sue) Hall of Portage and Michael (Paula) Hall of Spokane, WA; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Kalamazoo. Planting a memorial tree in the garden at Alamo Nursing Home is being planned for a future date. Cremation took place immediately; the ashes will be interned at the family plot in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw at a later date.
