Our beloved, Tammera Lynn Hoekstra-Ouzoonian, made her earth side appearance on August 4, 1974, in Dowagiac, MI, to her loving parents, Jacob Hoekstra and Vickie Hillhouse.
In early adulthood she became a mother to Jacob Painter and Kaylee Painter. Shortly after she married their father Jeff Painter.
Later in life, on June 7, 2008 she was united in marriage to Darryl Ouzoonian. They welcomed a son, Josef Ouzoonian, and a daughter, Katarina Ouzoonian.
Tammi began her working career at EPC in Mattawan, and later found her passion in working with children at Paw Paw Schools. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. Tammi could make friends with anyone, anywhere. Her smile and laugh were infectious. Those who were blessed to know her, will carry on the image and sound of that smile and laugh.
She had a strong love for animals, and was known for routinely bringing home strays, whom she claimed just “followed her home.” Her most beloved of those being her golden doodle Marley-Bob Ouzoonian. Who will miss giving his mommy all the slobbery kisses he has to offer.
After a courageous battle with illness, Tammi was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday November 24, 2022, at home with her family by her side.
In addition to her children and husband. Tammi is survived by her mother Vickie (Phillip) Hillhouse, her father Jacob (Jiliane) Hoekstra, three brothers, Jacob Hoekstra jr, Robert Hoekstra, and John Hoekstra, sisters, Kaylee (Nick) Parker, Cassandra Hillhouse, one grandchild, Emie Painter, along with many nieces and nephews.
