Steve passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born April 7, 1946 in Kalamazoo the son of the late Harold and Marie (Rice) Early. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and attended Western Michigan University. He served with the U.S. Marine Corp with two tours of duty in Vietnam as an engineer. He retired from Western Michigan University and owned several businesses; C & E Advertising, Omega Pizza, Gadgets, Inc, Early's Exotics and Great Lakes Cafe. On September 8, 1981 in Kalamazoo, Steve was united in marriage to Rosemary Dunn who survives. Also surviving are 2 step-sons, Ivan (Cherokee) Winkler of Pittsburg, PA and Michael (Laura) Cole of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Ivan, Allen, David, Katie and Samantha; sisters, Carol Walker, Marlene (Jerry) Simpkins, Delores (Tom) Day; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joe Spackman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.
