Stephen Jach, age 69 of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully at Bronson Hospital on January 30th, 2020, surrounded by his family after a hard-fought battle with ALS. He was born on January 16,1951 in Paw Paw to Guy and Donna (Squire) Jach.
After graduating from Paw Paw High School in 1969, Steve spent a few years wandering before deciding what path to take in life. He often leveraged his experiences and challenges faced during this time to provide hope and direction to others who were on a similar path. Thank God for that!
Shortly after marrying his wife, Sabrina, and having two beautiful daughters, Stephanie and Sarah, Steve joined the Sheetmetal Workers Union Local 7 Zone 1, working for Allied Mechanical Services and Mall City Mechanical prior to his retirement in 2006. Retirement was merely a label for Steve, and not one that he took seriously. He enjoyed hauling go-carts across the county for Formula K, and cherished time on the road with family when they were able to join him. He was passionate about blessing his family, friends, and St. Mary’s Church with the wealth of mechanical and other technical skills acquired throughout his life. Steve took great pride in his work, and firmly believed that a job wasn’t done if it wasn’t done right.
Steve will be remembered by family as a man who loved them fiercely, by his friends as a man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone, and by countless others as a man whose smile could light up any room.
Steve is survived by his wife: Sabrina Jach, his two daughters: Stephanie Jach (Ryan Hallgren), and Sarah (Nathanael) Noffsinger; his honorary daughter: Sarahmarie (Drew) Clark; his four beloved grandchildren: MacKenzie (Little Buddy) Hoekstra, Gage Noffsinger, Emerson Noffsinger, and Greyson Hallgren; his six brothers and sisters: Ronald Jach, Wendy (Kevin) Miller, Kevin Jach, Glenn (Carrie) Jach, Jo Linda Jach (Barb Rambler), his sister-in-law: Glenna Jach; and his many adored nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul Jach. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a visitation on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 6-8 p.m., at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 W, Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, MI.
