Stella passed away Friday evening, January 2, 2015 at Maple Lake Assisted Living, Paw Paw. She was born August 22, 1920 in Decatur, MI the daughter of the late Julius and Julia (Boback) Laskovy. Stella was employed by Eaton Manufacturing Company in Lawton and Battle Creek retiring after 28 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw, and enjoyed; golfing, knitting, sewing, baking, crocheting, bowling, cross word puzzles, bingo, gardening and playing cards with her card club and with couples when her husband was alive. On Nov. 20, 1940 in Chicago, IL Stella was united in marriage to Thaddeus "Ted" Pollack who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1993. Surviving are three sons, Dr. Gordon (Norma) Pollack of Richardson, TX, Robert Pollack of Paw Paw and Kenneth (Linda) Pollack of Paw Paw; daughter: Eileen Pollack of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren, Angela Pollack-Carrion, Amanda Pollack, Stephanie Trigg, Toni Swindford, Jennifer Baker and Karen (Dan) Kraemer; nine great grandchildren, Orlando Carrion, Armand Carrion, Marisol Carrion, Campbell Trigg, Jena Trigg, Lynsie Hoskin, Jourdin Swinford, Matthiew Baker and Landin Baker; two sisters, Eleanor Mead of Portage, MI and Ann Petersen of Fond du Lac, WI; brother, Peter Laskovy of Niles, MI; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Smith and four brothers, John, Stephen, Max and Alex Laskovy. Family will receive friends Wednesday (Jan. 7), 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a memorial service will be held following visitation at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Decatur Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6248.
