Stella passed away Wednesday morning, October 2, 2013, at her residence. She was born April 18, 1923, in East Chicago, IN, the daughter of Roman and Catherine (Tribalski) Wolownik. She has lived in the Paw Paw area since early childhood. Stella worked at Ellingsworth Manufacturing for many years, and later worked at Dillon's Drug Store.
She married Jack Crook on November 25, 1944. He preceded her in death earlier this year.
Stella leaves behind her daughter, Karen Crook of Paw Paw; sons, Jim (Nancy) Crook of Peoria, IL and Tom Crook of Mattawan; daughter-in-law Lisa Szeles of Kalamazoo; sister, Lillian (Richard) Miller of Pensacola, FL; brothers Steve Wolownik and Ray (Barb) Wolownik, both of Spring Hill, FL; grandchildren, Adam, Chris (Carrie), Jeff, Alex and Tyler Crook; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Larry; her parents; and brothers Andy Wolownik and Ed (Dolores) Wolownik.
Stella was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo and the companionship of many close friends. And she especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Friday, October 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Paw Paw, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow the services in St. Mary's Cemetery in Paw Paw.
