Stanley Frederick Tinker, age 89, of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully September 26, 2017 with his family at his side. He was born March 6, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Frederick and Martha (Knutsun) Tinker. He is survived by his two children, Melinda (Dale) Gribler and Dennis Tinker, six grandchildren, Gabriel Kester, Sharon (Scott) Ballard, Steven (Erica) Tinker, Vicki (Mike) Makowski, Greg Gribler and Derek Gribler, nine great grandchildren, sister, Dorothy Hall, step daughter, Ruth (Bob) Small. Stanley was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Margarete, his second wife, Jacqueline, daughter, Roseley Garza, brother, Vernon Tinker and two grandchildren, Jason Gribler and Infant Kester. Stanley served his country in the Army during World War II; he retired from the Army Reserves after 20 years, and retired after 35 years of service with the Brown-Sutherland Company. He enjoyed history, reading and working in his garden. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 30, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw where a funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Prospect Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Talons Out Honor Flight.
