Stanley passed away early in the morning on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the White Oaks Assisted Living Center in Lawton due to complication from Parkinson's disease. Stanley was born January 11, 1942 in Normal, IL, the son of the late Ray and Mildred (Strader) Heldreth. Stanley proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning many medals and awards. He earned his Master's degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University and went on to have a successful career as a CPA. He was a member of the American Legion Post 207 in Portage, member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Camp 20 as well as a member of the Kalamazoo Antique Auto Restorers Club. He loved reading, gardening and enjoyed classical music. Stanley was also very close to his cats, who stayed by his side all through his illness. On May 20, 1977 in Taylor, MI Stanley was united in marriage to his ever caring wife, Kathryn (Forgach) Heldreth, who survives. Burial with military honors will take place on Monday (8/20), 2:00pm at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Michigan Veteran Homes, P.O. Box 805; Grandville, MI 49468.
