Sheryl "Sherry" A. Waldo

Sheryl Waldo, 58, of Paw Paw, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. She was born March 22, 1956 in Paw Paw, the daughter of Norman and Carol (Schelsky) Specht. Sherry was a graduate of Lawton High School and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She worked as a legal secretary for Richard Burnham. She was active in the community as a Brownie leader, Girl Scout leader, a member of the Lawton Council and Planning commission and enjoyed Civil War reenactment.

On June 15, 2001 in Paw Paw, Sherry was united in marriage to Robert Waldo, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Nicole (Tim) Dekoning, and their children Jared and Carter, of Lawton; Heidi (Chad) Merchant and their children, Skyler, Raelyn and Brooklyne of Battle Creek; three stepdaughters, Amy (Zach) Filippini and their children Rocco, Roman and Mia of Loyalton, CA; Angel (Ben) Morris and their children, Parker, Gracie and Maylin of Kalamazoo; April (Brian) Waldo of Loyalton, CA; her parents, Norman Specht and Carol Specht, both of Lawton; five sisters, Kathy (Steve) Crow of Climax, Colleen Pedersen of Kalamazoo, Patricia (Mark) Hoover of New Carlisle, OH, Christine (Bob) Thomson of Fairport, NY, and Shannon (John) Sankey of Boise, ID; an aunt, Bonnie Stearns of Decatur; a cousin, Steve (Colette) Stearns of Lapeer; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., Pastor Hayden McAndrew of Valley Family Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Southwest Michigan (Rose Arbor) or the National Kidney Foundation.
