Sharon (McFarland) Deere

Sharon (McFarland) Deere, 88, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Centrica Care Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo.

She was born July 13, 1935, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of H. Langdon McFarland and Mary V. (Gard) McFarland.

Sharon loved horses and still had the desire to ride up until her final days. She was also known as a "jack of all trades" as she was able to repair just about anything. Sharon enjoyed refinishing furniture and completed her last project recently. Most of all, Sharon loved her dogs; Buddy and Wallace.

Sharon is survived by her three daughters; Alicia (Terry Comeaux) Sabo of Heathsville, VA, Michelle (late Joe) Mayo of Paw Paw and Corrine C. Cearley of Springfield, IL, her four beloved grandchildren; Ryan (Kyndell Cole) Cearley, Corey (Sasha) Cearley, Matthew Mayo and Michael (Jessica) Mayo and sister; Lael Farley.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Albert in 1997 and sister; Mariel Perko.

Cremation has taken place. Per Sharon's wishes, there will be no public services at this time. The family is planning a celebration of life to be held next year in Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
