Sandra Kay Hodgkinson, 71, of Mattawan, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, at her home in Mattawan.
She was born May 4, 1950 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Norbert Wayne Kellogg and Eunice (Adams) Kellogg.
Sandy dedicated more than 25 years to Bronson Hospital where she was employed as a RN, working in the newborn intensive care unit. She and her husband Royal, enjoyed many trips to Florida over the years, where they would spend time with both of their parents. She also enjoyed traveling around the United States to visit her children. While at home, Sandy took pride in her farmhouse and tending her garden. She and her dear friend, Sharon Hollaway, shared the hobby and art of sewing. Together they made blankets that they donated to Bronson Hospital for the newborn babies. When the COVID Pandemic began, they made face masks that they donated to Bronson.
On August 29, 1970, Sandra was united in marriage to Royal George Hodgkinson who survives.
She is also survived by her four daughters, Kelly (Jay) Odle, Lynn Marie (Kyle) Yoder, Sally (late John) Schoeben, Beth (Victor) Davis; twelve grandchildren, Sarah Hegedus, Jayson Odle, Teven Tefft, Tyler Tefft, Kady Krieger, Liam Schoeben, Hans Schoeben, Emily Davis, Natalie Davis, Carter Davis, Valentina Davis and Valentine Davis; one great-granddaughter, Lillie Tefft; one brother, Robert (late Patricia) Kellogg.
Mass of Christian burial will take place Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 23830 Front Ave., Mattawan, with Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
