Sally Ann Butler, 65, of Lawrence, MI, passed away Friday May 13, 2022 at the Rose Arbor Residence in Kalamazoo.
She was born March 28, 1957 in Chesterton, Indiana, the daughter of the late Eddie Edwards and Stella (Filipczyk) Edwards. Sally had a lifelong love for music. She was excellent in every aspect and was especially excellent with the piano. She shared her love and expertise of music with many throughout her life. In years gone by she was part of the popular Southwest Michigan Band "Voyeur" performing at venues that were packed with attendees. She also influenced many when she played at the summer camp and during her time as music director for the Paw Paw Village Players, where she also assisted in writing and rewriting music. In addition to her music, Sally had an unfaltering love for animals and playing her part in the effort for their care. She enjoyed tending her garden and her many plants.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Ashley (John Guillean) Butler, two brothers, David (Nan) Edwards and Charles (Patricia) Edwards and her sister, Amy Edwards.
Cremation will take place. There will be a private memorial at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Sally may be made to the ASPCA of Southwest Michigan.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life memorial, Saturday, May 21, 2022 starting at 4 p.m. at Cedar Lodge (47000 52nd St Lawrence, MI 49064) With Sally's love for plants, the family will be accepting plants that can be replanted in her garden or memorials directed to the ASPCA.
