Ruth (Masten) Schuster

Thelma Ruth Schuster (Ruth Masten),  97, lifelong resident of Paw Paw passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Bronson Commons in Mattawan.

She was born May 20, 1924 in Paw Paw, Michigan, the daughter of William Marion Piffer and Orpha Frances (Bash) Piffer.

Ruth had been a longtime member at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an avid music lover and enjoyed entertaining people for many years, most recently at Bronson Commons.

She is survived by her two sons, Jerry (Chari) Masten and Dale (Candy) Masten, daughter, Gail (Ed) Uminn, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one sister, Betty Bowsher, along with many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Schuster, her first husband, Wilford (Bill) Masten, daughter, Joyce Gilman, sister, Orpha Jordan, brothers, William Piffer Jr., and Ben Piffer, one grandson, Steven Rabb.

Cremation has taken place. Ruth will be placed to rest at Almena Cemetery in the spring.
