Ruby Maxine Bills, age 90, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013. Formerly of Lawrence, she had been a resident at Pat's Adult Foster Care in Decatur since 2006. Ruby was born in Rutland, Illinois on July 14, 1922 the daughter of the late Henry and Ella (Hackett) McGrew. She was married to William Wallace Bills October 30, 1943 and together they managed the family farm until his death in 1990. Ruby enjoyed gardening, wildlife and all outdoors. She had two sisters and seven brothers, two of which survive; Arnold McGrew of Paw Paw and William McGrew of Tucson, Arizona. Many nieces and nephews in the local area will miss her loving kindness and considerations. A member of the East Arlington Baptist Church; Ruby also served many years as a Red Cross volunteer at Lakeview Community Hospital. Memorials to her honor may be made to the Van Buren Historical Society or the East Arlington Baptist Church. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening 5 to 7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Wednesday (3/20) 11 a.m. with Pastor Glen Cowles officiating. Interment will follow in Hicks Cemetery, Arlington Township.
