Passed away surrounded by her daughters, granddaughters, sisters and niece on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI. Rosie was born July 23, 1932 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of the late Clayton and Susan (Minard) Compton. She worked for many years as a bus driver for the Kalamazoo Public School District, and then after retirement enjoyed her work at Lovely's Greenhouse. Rosie loved crocheting and gardening, but more than anything, she loved to go fishing! If she wasn't out on the lake, you could probably find her on the golf course. Rosie is survived by her daughters, Terri Brown and Cindy Rogers; grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) Gronau, Melissa (Jeff) Starrett, Danyell "Mandy" Robinson, Samantha Archambault and Jamie Rogers; great grandchildren, Brandon, Savanah, Paige and Jeffrey Starrett, Kirsten, Scottlynn and Colton Gronau; sisters, Louise (Tom) Anson, Sharon (Del) VanBruggen and Toni Compton; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Orland "Jim" Brown; 2nd husband, Jack Magnan; sons, Michael and Jimmy Brown. Family will receive friends on Friday (5/4) at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw from 6:00-8:00pm, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00am, Pastor Ken Smeader officiating. Interment will follow, Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be directed to the March of Dimes.
