Rose L. Leason, 65, of Paw Paw, passed away Monday morning, January 2, 2017 at her home. She was suddenly and unexpectedly moved from earth to heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rosie was born September 14, 1951 in Paw Paw, daughter of the late Lyle and Violet (Abeln) Leason. Preceding her in death were: sister, Kathleen Rose Leason; brother-in-law, Paul (Judy) Merrill; grandparents, Rosa (Leason) and Byron Boston; grandmother, Rose Abeln; and many aunts and uncles. Rose is survived by: sister, Judith (Leason/Boston) Merrill; niece and nephews, Jeaneen (Ed) Orbeck, Richard (Lindsay) Merrill, Benjamin Merrill; great nephews and nieces Michael II and Megan Strong; Cole, Joshua, Carter and Paige Merrill; and good friends Robyn and Judy Cassell.
Having graduated from Paw Paw High School, Rosie went on to attend Western Michigan University where she was one class shy of graduating. She will be remembered for walking countless miles in and around Paw Paw with her mother. Unfortunately this led to joint deterioration, pain and issues of mobility later in life for her. Rosie loved most animals, domestic and non-domestic, but by far her favorites were horses (especially Arabians). Over the course of her life she attended many, many horse shows with her dad and later with friends. It was sad for her to stop this activity when her mobility issues worsened, but she hoped to resume it soon following hip surgery. Rose also loved to attend yearly writers' conventions and sci-fi conventions with friends, and she spent many hours at the local library using available computer service as well. Since becoming incapacitated in recent months she has enjoyed reading, watching TV and talking on the phone with family and friends.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. If you want to make a contribution in Rose Lynne's memory, please direct it to the animal-related cause of your choice.
