Ron passed away Sunday evening, November 3, 2013 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after a brief illness. He was born August 20, 1949 in Paw Paw the son of the late Wayne and Anna (Belan) Maxam. He as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw, was employed as a Deputy for the Van Buren County Sheriff Dept. until owning and operating Paw Paw Cycle. He enjoyed scuba diving, riding motor cycles, traveling and was very active in athletics. Surviving are two sons, Randy (Melissa) Maxam of Portage, and Chad Maxam of Mattawan; 2 grandchildren, Alyssa and Andrew Maxam; sister, Bette Anne (Robert) Jackson of Bend, OR; 2 nieces, Laura Davies and Jennifer Maxam; nephew, Mark Maxam. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: James A. Maxam and Richard Maxam. Family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 8, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw and Saturday morning, 10 a.m. until service time, 11 a.m.at Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Eric Gledhill officiating. A luncheon at the church will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
