Roger Dale McGuire

Roger Dale McGuire, age 73, of Lawton, passed away September 6, 2017. He was born in Paw Paw on October 1, 1943 to the late Lynn and Maude (White) McGuire. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kathleen (Randall) McGuire, his daughter, Lori (Tom) Stuits of Alaska, two grandchildren, Hunter and Tanner Stuits, two sisters, Beverly (Jerry) Lettich of Pennsylvania and Margo McGuire of Paw Paw, mother in law, Madelyn Randall along with many nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his son, Roger Dale “Mickey” McGuire II, five brothers, Raymond, Donald, Robert, James and Randell and two sisters, Donna Jean Black and Linda Thatcher. Roger retired from General Motors after many years of service. He was a dedicated employee and held a strong work ethic. He was a family man and enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Roger and Kathy enjoyed many trips to Alaska to be with their daughters family. Roger enjoyed fishing while in Alaska and caught a 65 pound Salmon. He and Kathy also enjoyed traveling to car shows in their 1935 Ford street rod. He was an avid Michigan State fan. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 11, 2017 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 120 Pine Street, Paw Paw, where a memorial service will commence at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tiffany McCafferty officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation or to the First Presbyterian Church.
