Rodger William O'Connor

Rodger William O'Connor, 73, of Lawton, passed away peacefully Tuesday September 3, 2024, at his home in Lawton.

He was born June 19, 1951, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Lloyd Gerald O'Connor and Virginia (Arms) O'Connor.

Rodger proudly served his country in the United States Army before his honorable discharge. He worked as a truck driver with Motycka Truck for over 40 years before his retirement in 2012. He was a true country boy, he often thought back to his years living on Harley Farm, stating, "Those were the best years of my life along with my little buddy, Radar". He also loved to watch old Westerns like Gun Smoke and anything with John Wayne. Rodger was an avid horseshoe player and country music fan. He had a love for cars and motorcycles. Rodger rebuilt a vintage Chevy Camaro and rode around on his vintage 1972 Harley Davidson Sportster. Rodger, a legend of his time will be dearly missed by his beloved family and friends. 

On March 18, 1972, he married Sharon (Dudek) O'Connor who survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Tracy Lynn (Rob Sperry) O'Connor; two grandchildren, Caitlyn Horton and Eric Hertel; four great-grandchildren, Jaqulyn Gantt, Olivia Raymond, Samuel Raymond and Rebecca Nix; sister, Gail Lanyon; brothers, Tom (Verna) O'Connor and Robert "Bob" O'Connor and many nieces and nephews. 

Rodger was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry "PC" O'Connor. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Packer officiating.
