Robin Sue Nitz (nee Rennhack), a lifelong resident of southwest Michigan, left this world for a better place on Sunday, March 31. She was born on October 28th to the late Dick Paul (D.P.) Rennhack and Lucille Rennhack (nee Reck) in St. Joseph. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Bridgman and graduated as the salutatorian of the Paw Paw High School class of 1971. She took great pride in raising her children, Rebecca (Jeff) Zuhlke and Eric (Michelle) Nitz, and made their well-being and happiness the focus of her life.
She battled and beat breast cancer in 1980. In 1989, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), which would eventually lead to other health complications. Despite the medical issues, she maintained a positive attitude and adapted to the limitations that followed. She worked at Coast to Coast Hardware in Paw Paw and was a substitute rural mail carrier in Benton Harbor, until her body would no longer cooperate. She enrolled in Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s medical transcription program, earned a certificate in 1998, and worked at Watervliet Community Hospital until 2007.
Robin will be remembered for her quick-wittedness , loyalty to friends, and her steadfast faith in God. She loved the beach, trivia, flowers, organizing, baking, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her mother, Lucille Rennhack, daughter, Rebecca (Jeff ) Zuhlke of Hartland, WI, son, Eric (Michelle) Nitz of Lawton, two brothers, Craig Rennhack and Kurt (Kathleen) Rennhack, niece, Rene (Ryan) Yarbrough, three nephews, Richard (Emily) Rennhack, Clare Rennhack, Kevin Rennhack. Robin was preceded in death by her father, Dick Rennhack.
