Bob passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 4, 2013. He was born May 3, 1949, in Allegan, the son of Francis and Bernice (Tyler) Tenant. Bob faithfully served his country in the Army during the Viet Nam War. He was a graduate of Western Michigan in Industrial Engineering and was the owner of Tenants Tolerance Tooling from 1982-2005. He also owned Tenants Blueberry Farm in Bloomingdale. Bob was a member of the Michigan Blueberry Growers Association and Palmetto Palms Park in Fort Myers, Florida, where he and Jolly spent the winters. On July 10, 1971, Bob was united in marriage to Magteld "Jolly" Smith who survives; also surviving are a son Craig, of Portage and a daughter, Kristin (Bill) Quarterman of Fort Myers, FL; a grandson, John William; stepfather, Donald Warner; brother, Ronald (Sylvia) Tenant of Paw Paw; two stepbrothers, Denis Warner of Kalamazoo and Daniel Warner of Paw Paw; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepsister, Darcy Warner and stepbrothers, Donald and David Warner.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Burial with full military honors will follow at Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be directed to the SPCA of Kalamazoo, 6955 W. KL Avenue, Kalamazoo.
