Bob passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 7, 2011 at his home. He was born June 23, 1926 in Newburgh, NY the son of the late Clayton and Ethel (Cummings) Stewart. Bob was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy as a photographer. After the service he was in purchasing, sales and management in the Mobile Home and RV industry until his retirement in 1988. Bob attended the Lawton Evangelical Mennonite Church, was a member of the Lawton Lions Club, loved working with computers, was a trumpeter in a Big Band Era Band and continued his interest by playing music for seniors at White Oaks in Lawton. On April 26, 1949 in Los Angeles, CA, Bob was united in marriage to Shirley A. Urnaz who survives. Also surviving are 4 daughters, Georgeanne (G. Scott Miller) Stewart of Ojai, CA, Chris (Bob) Zedeck of Lawton, Jo (Steve) DeYoung of Algonquin, IL and Robin (Steve) Spiech of Lawton; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Zedeck. Family will receive friends Thursday (6/9) 6-8 p.m. and Friday 1 to 2 p.m. at the Lawton Evangelical Mennonite Church where funeral services will be held Friday, (6/10) 2 p.m. with Rev. Roger Andrews officiating. A luncheon will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
