Robert "Bob" Michael Gordenier was born on July 9, 1958, in Pontiac, MI to Richard Gordenier and Nancy (Pond) Gordenier. He was united in marriage on June 9, 1979, to Cristina "Chris" (New) Gordenier, and in 1985, they welcomed their daughter Jessica who was the light of his life.
Although he could come off as being a bit gruff, Bob was a big teddy bear with a huge heart. He loved spending time playing his favorite games, including Chess, Cribbage, Sudoku, and several others. He also loved landscaping (especially with artificial flowers) and was very creative. Bob was an avid sports fan who enjoyed wrestling and proudly supported University of Michigan Football (Hail to the Victors!). He also admired eagles and amassed an impressive collection of memorabilia. Above all else, Bob found the most joy in spending time with his wife, daughter and son-in-law, talking on the phone with his family, and listening to oldies while enjoying a Pepsi.
During a brief stay at Rose Arbor Residence in Kalamazoo, and with his closest loved ones by his side, Bob entered into eternal rest on March 22, 2023, at the age of 64.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Chris of Decatur; his daughter, Jessica (Andy) Kirby of Vicksburg; sisters, Mary Chmiel of Mishawaka, Deje Gordenier of Bozeman, MT, and Sharon O'Hara-McFarland of Mishawaka; brother, Rick (Judy) Gordenier of South Bend; brothers-in-law, John (Helen) New of Decatur and William Stroud of Lawton; along with many nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law Marsha Adams and Wilma Arnold; and brother-in-law Herman "Al" Arnold.
