Bob passed away Saturday afternoon, December 14, 2013 at his home. He was born August 28, 1947 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of the late Edward J. and Margaret (Van Vleck) Brennan. He was a 1965 graduate of Paw Paw High School, and a 1969 graduate of Loyola University of Chicago with a BSBA degree. He worked from 1979 to 1995 for Bankers Trust Company in West Des Moines, IA where he became a Senior Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer. He later formed a real estate company with his brother Patrick in Paw Paw, retiring in 2005.
Bob had a lifelong love of the water that began while spending summers at the family cabin in Grayling, MI. While in college, he became a lifeguard in Chicago and later enjoyed water skiing and boating with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid reader and eloquent writer and speaker. He enjoyed connecting with others through his involvement in local business and personal organizations and with his large family over the years. Surviving are his daughter, Moja (Dan) Belmont of Chicago, IL; son, Edward (Amy) Brennan of Arlington Heights, IL; grandsons, Jack, Victor, Finn, and Will; granddaughters, Caroline, Vivien, and Violet; former wife and mother of his children Mignon Snider of Sarasota, FL; stepmother, Suzanne L. Brennan of Paw Paw, MI; six sisters and one brother, Susan A. Brennan of Lawton, MI, Lilli (Al) Congdon of Paw Paw, MI, Sharon (George) Haldes of Chicago, IL, Barbara Ann Derrico of Paw Paw, MI, Kathleen (Jeff) MacDonald of Paw Paw, MI, Karen (Kevin) Weed of Allegan, MI, and Patrick (Mindy) Brennan of Paw Paw, MI; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 3, 2014, 1 P.M. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Retreat Center in Dewitt, MI. http://www.stfrancis.ws
