Robert Lee Bennett, age 89, of Paw Paw, passed away September 28, 2016. He was born January 31, 1927, in Otsego, to the late Grant and Lucie (Rust) Bennett. Robert is survived by his wife, Thelma (Strickland) Bennett, two sons; Douglas Bennett of Panama and Richard of Arizona, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mack Bennett. Bob served in the Navy during WWII as an X-Ray Technician. He retired in 1987 from the UpJohn Company where he managed the X-Ray department. Bob was an avid sports enthusiast, he loved golf and enjoyed baseball and football. He served as treasure of the Paw Paw Players for many years and participated in performances occasionally. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Paw Paw, 120 Pine Street. A memorial service will commence at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tiffany McCafferty officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or to the charity of your choice.
