Ricky L. Darling, of Lawton, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 8, 2024, in Lawton, Michigan. He was born on September 11, 1955, in Paw Paw, Michigan.
Ricky will be remembered for his love of football, especially his unwavering support for the Detroit Lions and his backup team, the Titans. His passion for the sport brought joy to those around him. Many hours were spent watching football with Ricky. He cherished the simple things in life like going out for breakfast with his beloved friends and embarking on family trips during his younger years. Ricky took pride in caring for his lawn, always making sure it was in top shape. Above all else, Ricky loved taking care and spending time with his grandchildren. His great sense of humor brought laughter to many, often through his playful pranks. Recently baptized, Ricky found comfort in his faith.
He is survived by his loving wife Rachel (Fritts) Darling (beloved pets Nugget and Bessie) and their daughters, Jamie Elliott (John Winters), Amanda (Arrow) Huff and Crystal (Joshua) Morey. Ricky is also survived by his brothers, Stan (Mary) Darling and Ronald (Lisa) Darling and sister Diane (Tom) Petersen. His memory will be cherished by his eleven grandchildren, Jared, Kayla (Alex), Zachary (Alexia), Kenneth (Haylee), Veronica, Breonna, Xavier (Torie), Xander, Ariyana, Andrew, and Maleah; as well as his three great-grandchildren, Brelynn, Andrew Jr., and Harper.
Ricky was predeceased by his father George Lindy Darling and mother Virginia (Moon) Darling.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw, with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Richard Fenner officiating.
All are invited to a luncheon at Big T in Lawton, 155 N. Main Street, following the memorial service.
