Richard "Dick" E Weddington

December 13, 1939 — April 4, 2023

Bangor

Dick was born in Kalamazoo, MI on December 13th, 1939, son of the late Adrian and Marjorie (Elrod) Weddington. Dick grew up in a loving home rich in faith and family.

Dick was united in marriage to his loving wife Judy for 51 years.  He was a believer in Christ and believed in providing for his family.  He took great pride in his work as machinist and tool & die which he retired from in 2001.  Dick was very creative and believed in honest hard work though he always found time for a prank or two.  His day was not over when he punched out at the day job, Dick carried his hard work ethic and creative skills home where he applied it to his hobby of building engines and fast cars later turning his hobby into a part time business.  In 1984, Dick and Judy felt they were led by God to a beautiful piece of land near Glendale which they then purchased.  Here, they would build their dream, a place for retirement.  They would have a small farm and for 12 ½ years they lived totally off the grid, electricity, heat and water all designed and built by Dick.

Though he thoroughly enjoyed work, Dick also made time for family and friends.  Dick had a way of making an everlasting impact on all lives he encountered.  He and Judy regularly attended Calvary Bible Church and for 13 years would host a summer party for their Sunday school class which they both thoroughly enjoyed.  Dick also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors and most of all, his Grandchildren who he loved greatly.

Dick never stopped working because he was tired, he stopped when the job was done.  After a productive day, in the early morning of April 4th, 2023, Dick went to be with the Lord peacefully while in his sleep.  Though most would think his job is finally done, his family knows he is hard at work, helping God create a special place for us all.

Dick leaves behind his wife Judith along with children Robin Weddington, Russell (Jodi) Weddington, Michael (Natalie Kiplinger) Weddington, Christopher (Cristi) Weddington, Nicole (Tim Garton) Weddington.  Grandchildren Jordan, Nathan, Elizabeth, Joshua, Ryan, Samantha, Tori, Erron, Arianna, Ayden, Erick, Rachel, Shannon.  Great Grandchildren Elias, Scarlett, Alex, Cason, Ezekiel and another one on the way.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Anthony King for his care of Dick over the past 30 years. Dr King was more than Dicks trusted cardiologist; he was Dicks friend.
