Randy Allen Lowe, 70, of Lawrence, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Born on November 27, 1953, in Watervliet, Michigan, Randy led a fulfilling life filled with cherished memories and impressive accomplishments.
His strong work ethic led him to dedicate years to the Watervliet Paper Mill and Watervliet Public Schools, retiring in 2017.
Randy was a past chief for the Hartford Fire Department, always ready to help others at the drop of a tone and passing on the fire bug to his son and grandson.
Aside from his professional life, Randy had a diverse range of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He had a passion for NASCAR, enjoyed sipping on Miller Lite, and took pleasure in fixing things. Riding his motorcycles and driving his classic cars while listening to Elvis Presley held a special place in his heart, reflecting his appreciation for timeless icons. Randy also relished camping trips with his family, bonding over sports events and supporting his grandchildren on the field while enthusiastically engaging with the referees. His faithful companion, Nash the dog, shared many memorable moments by his side.
In his quieter moments, Randy found solace in watching old westerns like GunSmoke and Andy Griffith. He embraced the simple joys of life and could often be found at the hardware store, cruising on the boat or conversing at the car wash.
Randy will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by the love of his life; Jill (Griffin) Lowe, sons; Steven and Andrew Lowe and Trey (Jamie) Augenblick, daughter; Erin (Brandon) Shannon, as well as a host of grandchildren: Chloe Lowe, Aiden Lowe, Cade Shipley, Chloe Shannon, Carter Shannon, Stella Augenblick, Bodhi Augenblick and Willow Augenblick, brother; Thomas (Nita) Lowe, and sisters; Sherry (Mark) Miller and Valerie (Marvin) Strong.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; Ernie W. Lowe and Verna (Blackburn) Lowe, grandson; Collin Shipley, and brothers; Robert and Kenneth Lowe.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Randy will be laid to rest at Hill Cemetery in Lawrence immediately following.
