Phyllis passed away Tuesday morning, January 31, 2012 at Meadow Wood Nursing and Rehab Center in Bloomingdale. She was born September 1, 1949 in Paw Paw the daughter of the late John B. and Helen F. (Sirrine) Moon. Phyllis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Paw Paw and enjoyed collecting angels, knitting, reading and most of all her grandchildren. On April 25, 1976 in Paw Paw Phyllis was united in marriage to Ernest H. Smith who survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Ted (Kim) Roberts and Rebekah (Cory) Jones both of Paw Paw; grandchildren, Alishia Marie Jones, Ashley Renea Jones, Cody Allen, Brittany Wanink and Brandon Wanink; 2 brothers, Charles Moon and Robert (Linda) Moon all of Paw Paw; 2 sisters, Barbara Jean (Dave) Samples of Paw Paw and Rosemary (Larry) Johnson of Glendale; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, J. Thomas Moon. Family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Spencer of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow the service at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
