Paulina passed away Tuesday morning, July 30, 2013 at the Fountains in Kalamazoo. She was born August 3, 1925 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Emilo and Gertrude (Henning) Javier. Paulina enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafts, reading, painting and puzzels. Paulina together with her husband enjoyed golfing in the morning and playing bridge and dancing in the evening. On August 20, 1943 in South Dakota, Paulina was united in marriage to Vincent Michael Cabras who survives. Also surviving are a son, Dr. Vincent (Karen) Cabras of Paw Paw; 2 daughters, Marsha (William) Bredemann of Chicago and Pamela (Robert) Pancoast of Stevensville, MI; 11 grandchildren, Theresa Cabras, Anna (Mike) Licavoli, Carla (Tim) Sever, Dan Cabras, Fred Cabras, Andrea Gerstein, Arnold Michael Ferdon, Adam (Jennifer) Ferdon, Ben (Melissa) Pancoast, Becky Pancoast, and Jim Pancoast; 9 great grandchildren, Dulcinea, Marisa and Dominic Licavoli, Christopher Schaffner, Haley Gerstein, William Ferdon, Ellee, Eli and Noah Pancoast. sister: Barbara (Norbert) Schwarzer. Family will receive friends Friday, (August 2) 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. EST at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier Celebrant. ?Family will receive friends Friday evening (August 2) 5 to 9 p.m. CST at the Herdegen-Brieske Funeral Home, 1356 West Wellington, Chicago, IL 60657-4124, phone: (773)-935-6111. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, (8/3) 10 a.m. CST at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Chicago with interment to follow in Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Capuchins of St. Joseph Province or the American Diabetes Association.
