Passed away suddenly, Thursday morning, November 8, 2012 while hunting. Paul was born August 28, 1937 in Kalamazoo the son of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth (Izack) Aleksich. Paul was employed by Fuller Transmission for 30 years and was a life-long farmer in Mattawan. He attended the Mattawan Community Church, enjoyed farming, hunting, gardening, cooking and most of all his grandkids. Paul had a deep love for his community, friends and touched many hearts with his humor and generosity. On February 20, 1960 in Kalamazoo, Paul was united in marriage to Alice Ann Jordan who survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Tom (Almira) Aleksich of Lawton; Brenda (Larry) Smead of Stevensville, Lisa (Bill) Baas of Mattawan, and Rick (Jodi) Aleksich of LeHigh, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; sister, Lyn Bell of Portage; and 3 nephews. Family will receive friends Monday 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. A private Interment will be in Virgo Cemetery, Texas Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or West Michigan Cancer Center, Kalamazoo.
