Patricia Hempsall was born June 16, 1938 to Marjorie (Galarno) and Edward Hempsall in Flint, MI. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing in Flint. She spent many years traveling all over the world with her first husband Garry Freeland and their children when he was in the service. They lived in Illinois, Okinawa, Oklahoma, Japan and Michigan. She worked as a nurse both in hospitals and Dr. Offices over the years. In 1984 she moved to Mattawan, MI working at Pipp Hospital in Plainwell, Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw and later IBA Health Insurance Co. She married E. James "Jim" Brown on Apri129, 1995. They retired in 1996 and started traveling in their motor home to various locations in the United States finally deciding to settle outside Clermont, FL. She and Jim worked at Disney World and Sea World. They also spent some time on the American Red Cross relief teams during Hurricane season. She loved to cook and bake and was known for taking cookies to Dr. offices and many other places. She loved watching her grandchildren grow and attending their activities when possible. The major highlight of recent years was the cruise that she and Jim and all of her children and grandchildren went on in 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents Marjorie and Edward Hempsall and her brother, Edward George Hempsall. She is survived by her husband, Jim Brown; children, son Gerard Scott (Ruth H.) Freeland and grandson, Joshua C. E. Freeland of Lawton, MI; daughter, Ruthann M. (Charles "Chuck" P.) Schulke, Jr. and grandchildren, Callie C., Courteney M., and Charles P. Schulke III of Howell, MI; daughter, Kathleen M. Rudnick of Cummins, GA and grandsons, Giusitno (Justin) J. and Anthony (Tony) G. Rudnick of Strongsville, OH; sister Mary Hempsall of Lawton, MI; her first husband, Garry Freeland; many aunt, uncles cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Wednesday, (7/2) 5 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where a Rosary will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be Thursday morning 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Kalamazoo, with funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment of cremains will be held at a later date in Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc, MI. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Building Fund, 1050 Celebration Avenue, Celebration, FL. 34747 or Epilepsy Foundation, 8301 Professional Place, Suite 200, Landover, MD 20785 or Livingston County Boxing Autism Club, 2980 Door Road, Suite B, Brighton, MI 48816.
