Norman Henry Zimmerman

Norman Henry Zimmerman, 88, of Three Rivers, MI, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on April 1, 1931, in Ionia, MI, the son of Henry and Wanda Zimmerman.

Norman graduated from Hopkins High School. After graduating he joined the US Air Force, where he served faithfully from 1950 to 1954 and later served in the Army Reserves for 16 years. He was very proud of his service to the country. He worked for years at the Miller Road United States Postal Service until he retired in 1986. Norm was a member of the Paw Paw American Legion in which he served on the honor guard. He was also a member of the Bloomingdale Conservation Club, a member of the NRA, and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Norman loved to tinker; he loved to fiddle with tractors, trains, guns, and anything else he could find. Norm was an avid outdoorsman, adventure seeker, loved to get out and ride around on his tractors through the woods.

Surviving are Sons, Larry (Cindy) Zimmerman, Russell (Pam) Zimmerman, David Zimmerman, Bruce (Becky) Zimmerman, Daughter, Judy (Greg) Kinser, Step-son, Rich Sikkenga, Step-daughter, Sharon Blackmun, several Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, friends, and other loving family members. Norm was preceded in death by his parents and his Wife, Esther Zimmerman.

Friends will be received at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, from 10:00 am to time of service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
