Passed away Sunday afternoon, March 24, 2013 at Alamo Nursing Home. Norma was born December 30, 1926 in Oaks, North Dakota the daughter of the late Melvin and Iris (Gustafson) Larson. She was employed in the packing department at the James River Paper Company for over 31 years retiring in 1980. She enjoyed gardening, country music and her pets. On February 3, 1948 in Morehead, MN Norma was united in marriage to Wilbert "Bill" Mitzel who preceded her in death on November 2, 2011. Surviving are 5 children, Claudia (Ben) Johnson of Lawton, Carla (Mike) Betzner of Mattawan, Zona (Dick) Block of Portage, Rob (Trish) Mitzel of Battle Creek, and Wilbert "Jinks" (Marcia) Mitzel of Plainwell; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gloria (Joe) Elliott of MO and Vicki (Tom) Schmitt of ND; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Saturday, March 30, 2013, 4 to 6 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Almena Cemetery.
