Leonard Neal Wallace, age 71, Paw Paw passed away suddenly, Thursday, October 9, 2014 in Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. He was born August 17, 1943 in Moulton, AL the son of the late Leaman and Leoda (Mayfield) Wallace. Neal was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Eaton Mfg. Co for 21 years retiring as a supervisor and later employed by Coca-Cola Foods, Paw Paw as a tank un-loader retiring in 2009. He was a member of the American Legion, McGowan-Johnson Post # 68, Paw Paw and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2532, Paw Paw. Neal was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and enjoyed watching old western movies. Most of all Neal enjoyed his grandchildren and watching them in sports. On August 27, 1967 in Lawton, Neal was united in marriage to Sandy Mitchell who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Barnhart of Paw Paw; grandchildren, Makayla and Karsen Barnhart; sisters, Barbara (Lee) Mohney of Mattawan, Carolyn Jach of Athens, AL, Jean (Brad) Alies of Decatur, AL, and Kathy (Jack) Webb of Kalamazoo, brother, Christopher (Charlene) Wallace of Huntington Beach, CA; many nieces and nephews; special friends Jim and Marcie Bremmer of Paw Paw. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kay Bigelow and his best friend, Joe Mayo. Family will receive friends Sunday (10/12) 1 to 4 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held following visitation at 4 p.m. Military honors to will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #68, Paw Paw or the West Michigan Cancer Center, Kalamazoo.
