Myrtle Donna Hickok, 96, of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Maple Lake Assisted Living in Paw Paw.
She was born February 4, 1923 in Provo, Utah, the daughter of the late Frank Sackett and Lillie May (Meldrum) Sackett.
Donna proudly served her country in the Marines during WWII, she was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Paw Paw and Simpson United Methodist Church. Donna enjoyed her career teaching and took pride in her excellent seamstress skills. She and Bob loved to be spontaneous and pack up and take trips.
On Christmas Day in 1948, in Kalamazoo, she married Robert C. Hickok who preceded in death in 2001.
She is survived by her three daughters, Roxanne (Stuart) Gillis, Colleen Mettler and Kelly Kay (Robert) George; son, Douglas (Vicky) Hickok, eight grandchildren, Karina (JB) Gillis-Bugg, Erin Gillis, Bryan Hickok, Keith (Andrea) Hickok, Kyle (Samantha) Hickok, Ben (Becca Knaper) Mettler, Veronica (Justin) Morgan and Kelsey (Sean) Cameron; four great-grandchildren, Kerigan, Dean, Anna, Ava.
Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Sackett and her sisters, Genevieve Klockenteger and Fleeta Sackett and her son in law, James Mettler.
Cremation has taken place. Donna will be laid to rest with military honors Friday, May 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
