Mildred "Cookie" E. Herbert, 74, of Lawton, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at her home.
Mildred was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania on September 16, 1947, the daughter of John Toy and Mary (Broski) Toy. She enjoyed raising her family and taking care of the family home. Her talent in the kitchen was appreciated by many and her potato salad was an instant favorite. Mildred was meticulous with needlepoint and her many craft items. She would take a break and relax with a smoke and often enjoyed a cold brew. She and her husband John, enjoyed great success with Scratch off tickets and the many sweepstakes they entered. Over the course of many years, they would end up enjoying at least 20 trips from entering sweepstakes, allowing them to travel near and far. In recent years, Mildred enjoyed staying around her home and did not get out often. One of the things that would bring her out were the fish fry's that she looked forward to at her sons home.
Mildred was united in marriage to John "Jack" Edward Herbert who preceded her in death January 19, 2017.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanna (Shawn) Jurgensen, two sons, John R. (Seana) Herbert and Bill (Amanda) Herbert; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Shawn, Bill, Luke, Destin, Daisy, Ellie, Sally.
Mildred was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom and Sonny and her sisters, Sally and Gloria.
